Alaska Run for Women – 2023

Alaska Run for Women

To raise money for and awareness of breast cancer and women’s health, and to showcase the talents of Alaska’s women athletes.

The races start in the parking lot North East of the Cuddy Quad at the heart of UAA, and runs in a clockwise direction. The finish line is on the East side of the Cuddy Quad.

This event starts as a race, but ends as a walk. There will be a lead bicycle for the elite runners. There will be walking sweepers for each group, wearing pink vests.

The main event is the 5 mile run. Groups start at 8:45 AM, 9:05 AM and 9:20 AM. There is a 1 mile run that starts at 8:30 AM as shown in light pink.

By my calculations, the elite runners should finish around 9:13 AM, and the Party Wave and stroller finish should be around 11:45 AM.

We are likely to use the Emergency Operations Center at Providence Alaska Medical Center as Net Control for this event. It is in a perfect location and a great place to exercise emergency communications equipment in support of a great event.
