FCC Slowly Bringing Batch Filing System Back Online

The FCC announced today that the government is back in business and they are working to bring the Universal Licensing System (ULS) back online.  They advised that they will begin processing applications made from January 3 through January 29 over the next several weeks.  They ask that we be patient as they are working expeditiously through the backlog of filings.

How does this affect the Anchorage ARC VEC?  We currently have 6 batch files submitted to the FCC awaiting processing.  There are about 30 applications that need to be acted upon within those 6 batch files.  We hope these get attended to quickly.

There was no word on how newly submitted files since the shutdown ended will be prioritized.  One would assume they’d be added to the queue and have to wait their turn for processing, but who knows.

At any rate, the FCC will be getting to it and we hope that those hams we’ve submitted applications for will be acted upon soon.
