What is an “FSD-157”? It is a Public Service Report that we submit to the ARRL to let them know about public service activities we as amateurs are engaged in. We can report the following:
- Communications Emergency: Amateurs supplied communications required to replace or supplement normal communications means.
- Alert: Amateurs were deployed for emergency communications, but emergency situation did not develop
- Special Exercise: Amateurs supplied communications for a parade, race, etc.
- Test or Drill: A training activity in which amateurs participated

Following is an FSD-157 for the recent support we provided for the Walk for Hope:
Communications support for the 2022 Anchorage Walk & Roll for Hope. Net control was located at the Anchorage ARC’s Radio Science and Operations Center (RSOC) located at 6721 Raspberry Road.
- Assignments included:
1 person – Net Control
1 person – Race Director Shadow
6 people – 3 checkpoints with two operators at each
2 people – Bike mobiles - Places or areas involved: Anchorage, Alaska
- Number of amateurs participating: 10
- Event start date/time: May 7, 2022 / 0830L
- Event end date/time: May 7, 2022 / 1130L
- Duration of event (hours): 3
- Total person hours: 30
- Number of repeaters used: 1
- Estimated person-power cost (person-hours times $19/hour): $570
- Estimated cost of equipment used (handhelds, repeaters, vehicles, etc.): $36,100
- Total estimated cost of service: $36,670

This communication support event was coordinated by Keith Clark, KL7MM.
Equipment costs included estimated values of all HTs used, fixed/mobile/base stations, fixed antennas, the repeater, 2 bicycles, and our Mobile Telecommunications Vehicle (MTV).
There were 2 bike mobile stations used on this event operated by KL7TS and WD6BMJ.
