Pictures and videos that PiGate users send in are shown here.

This is the first PiGate unit and the device that all the software development was
done on.  A Raspberry Pi B+ and the nifty case.  The cell phone is added to show the size of the PiGate. In addition, the PiGate can be operated from the cell phone!  A couple cables for power and to the VHF radio is all that is needed to get going.

With that big antenna the WiFi gateway has a long reach!

Here’s a new idea for the PiGate, a weatherproof box.  12 volt power comes in on the 9 pin data connector on the left side, as well as all data to/from the radio.  The power converter shown in the box converts to 5v for the PiGate.  The temperature inside the case does not get very warm unless it’s in the sun. Mark Phillips sent this cool video of his 3D printer building a PiGate case.
Here’s a Raspberry Pi 2 based PiGate from Warren Beedle.  Neat case!
The downside of this configuration is it’s a little difficult to change the mini-SD card to install new software.  Below is a closer look at the inside of the case. Below is  Dragan Tuip (KG7OQT) at the Washington State Science Fair with his PiGate project.  He won First Place!
