With the 2021 Iditarod finishing up, I was provided a CD by JD Delancy, W1JD, containing an interesting array of articles, photos, and even a song relevant to the 1979 and 1980 Iditarod (and before). HAM radio was a big part of Iditarod then, and you may find some of this reading interesting.
