EARTHQUAKE EXERCISE, March 5, Anchorage – Please Assist
EARTHQUAKE EXERCISE
On Tuesday, March 5 th the Anchorage Emergency Operations Center (AEOC) will hold an
exercise from 1000 until 1400 local.
During that time, the Radio Science and Operations Center (RSOC) is asking local hams to
participate, by checking in on the Anchorage chat frequency of 146.490 MHz simplex.
Since there are hams in every neighborhood in the Municipality, our long-range goal is to
identify the general location of stations so that in a real emergency, reports on the status of
infrastructure in those neighborhoods can be conveyed to the proper emergency managers.
We are asking all participants help us make this a successful promotion of our communications
capabilities.
