Technician Class Garners 12 New Hams
The AARC put on a 2-day intensive Technician License Examination Preparation class this past Saturday and Sunday (Jan 26 and 27) at the RSOC. Twelve bold soles took the plunge, did their pre-course homework, participated actively in the class, asked great questions, caught their instructor (me) off guard a few times, and nailed the examination late Sunday afternoon!
Many thanks to the VE Team of Lara Baker (AL2R), Rich Gillin (AL4S), and Walter Yankauskas (KL7WY) for coming out on Sunday afternoon to test this big group. Also, thanks to TJ Sheffield (KL7TS), and Kevin Opalka (KL2NV) for assisting and giving tours of the facility and demonstrations of equipment to the group.
We hope to have additional tech license prep classes in the near future. If you know of folks that want to get started in HAM radio, and maybe could benefit from such a class, please send them our way. Or, if an organization you are affiliated with would like to get a gang of folks HAMified, again, we could be the right answer. Drop a note to info@kl7aa.org if interested.
