First Tech Prep Course a Success!

The first Technician License Preparation Course wrapped up Sunday, May 13, 2018 with excellent success.  This was an intense, 2-day prep course conducted on Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13.  Seven individuals completed the course, including two youths of 14 and 15 years of age.  Immediately following completion of the course on day 2, all participants took their exams with 6 of the 7 succeeding.  Of special note both kids passed!

Instructors were Kent Petty, KL5T, and David Heimke, AL7LO.  TJ Sheffield, KL7TS, Mike O’Keefe, KL7MD, Pete Summers, KL2GY were also of great help from the sidelines.

Special thanks to Kathy O’Keefe, KL7KO, who put together a VE team to officiate the testing on the afternoon of Mother’s Day (sorry moms). [Ed. Volunteer Examiner team: KL7KO, AL2R, AL4G & AL4S]

This class is the first of many and progressive course offerings to follow.  The next course to be taught will be an Introduction to Electric Circuits and Kit Building to be held on May 22, 2018 from 7-9 pm.  Check this link for the current status of our courses.
