The FCC announced today that they have established a date of implementation for the Amateur Radio Licensing Fees. The new $35 fee structure will go online on April 19, 2022.

Application fees must be paid within 10 calendar days of receipt of the application by the FCC. For VEC submitted applications, this period does not begin until the application is received by the FCC and a ULS file number is assigned.

Payment instructions can be found here: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/html/ULS%20Pay%20Fees.htm

The FCC has scheduled a meeting with VECs tomorrow, March 24, 2022, to discuss additional details regarding the implementation of application fees.

As a reminder, the $35 fee will apply to:
– New license applications
– License renewals
– New vanity call signs

Applications fees will NOT apply to administrative updates, such as address or contact information updates, etc.

More information will be provided after the meeting tomorrow.
